Grad Fest

Grad Fest will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., April 12–13, in the Leah Spratt Hall Atrium. This will be a two day event for students that are graduating. Students will pick up their caps and gowns and celebrate with multiple departments from around campus. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions about commencement and have their picture taken as well.

Graduation is approaching quickly as some students begin to feel the excitement. Senior, Amani Robinson, took the time to elaborate on her plans after graduation.

“I’m really excited to graduate. I feel like I’ve put in a lot of hard work and I’m finally earning my degree in sports management. I plan on going to grad school and I aspire to be a lawyer or attorney some day. I’m from Atlanta, Georgia so I am planning on going to Webber International University in Florida for graduate school.”

It is essential for students, especially seniors, to start looking for jobs early on. Graduate student Jonathan Vos in particular has done this and has a job already lined up for after he graduates.

“I just accepted a job back at home in Nebraska. I will be working as the head athletic trainer at the College of Saint Mary in Omaha. I’m excited because it’s my first job out of college and I’m ready to graduate with my masters in sport and fitness management.”

With midterms arriving and the school year coming closer to a close some students have begun to take a look at their future. Tylen Wallace is a senior on the football team and explains his plans for after graduation.

“My major is recreational management and I plan on graduating in the fall. I’m using my COVID year to play another season of football. After I graduate I hope to make it to the NFL and someday open my own gym.”

Spring Commencement and Hooding Ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Spratt Stadium. Missouri Western will also offer a livestream of the ceremony for guests that cannot attend. This will be available on the university’s Youtube channel.

All graduates are encouraged to attend Grad Fest along with commencement ceremonies. If for some reasons students cannot make their graduation, they can contact the Registrar’s Office. For more information about graduation students can contact mwsugraduationinfo@missouriwestern.edu.
